I’m sure you’ve noticed I frequently change the theme of this blog.  I’m never quite happy with how it looks. Either the font is too small, or the main column is too narrow, or there’s not enough on the side-bar.  It’s frustrating.

But WordPress.com is free, so I can’t complain too much.  At least I HAVE style options, right?

I want to learn CSS.  Cascading Style Sheets.  This is what these blog themes are made of.  If I knew CSS, I could take one of the themes and make the modifications I want, so that it’s MY theme and it would work the way I want it to.

It’ll just take time.  Well, dedicated time.  I don’t have the time to dedicate an hour away from the kids on a daily basis to learn CSS.  My quiet time isn’t actually quiet- since I have Brooke and Luke who still need supervision and entertaining.

I taught myself how to use Excel and Access.  I taught myself some basic HTML when I was working on our remodeling website and listing customized ebay ads.  That’s all old-school now.

I want to learn how to make blog themes.  I want to learn how to modify CSS and write CSS and whatever else I need to know about CSS so that my blog can truly be mine.  I’m up for the challenge.  Wonder how long it will take me?
