OK Ladies….your husband might cringe if he reads this, and he might laugh at you if you suggest it…but I wanted to share something we do at our house on Sundays when it’s football season.
You see, Jim likes to watch football. And he’ll have it on ALL day long if he can!
JIM is the one who actually came up with this idea a few years ago, and with yesterday being the first day of NFL football….he got right back into it!
Yes, laundry. Sunday is laundry day here during football season. The rest of the year it’s done during the week since I’m home. But on Sunday mornings, everyone in our family takes their laundry to the laundry room, sorts it into the appropriate bins (yes, even the 4 & 6 year old!) and then Jim starts the first load. And when it’s done, he moves it to the dryer, starts the next load of wash, then sets a timer as a reminder of when to go back to get the dry clothes when they are done (we can’t hear the buzzer).
And this is the kicker…this is what I wanted to share:
JIM folds all the laundry!
He figured that if he’s going to be sitting on the couch all day long watching TV, he can at least fold the laundry while he’s doing it. It’s up to me and the kids to put it all away, but I’m not going to complain!
Even yesterday, the first big day of games…even when he had a friend over watching the games with him, Jim still folded all the laundry. Picture that: two guys, drinking beers, snacking on chips, watching football on the bigscreen…and Jim with his timer- folding each load of laundry as it came out!
This is why I love football season!
