(By the way, there will be daily posts for the next few days- I wanted to get my Christmas happenings out before the end of the year).

——————————————————–

We had a fun little activity during our Christmas celebration with Jim’s family…

It all started when I ran across this article…after hearing a short piece of it on the news one day as I was using the elliptical.  The “Gingerbread Man Personality Test”.  So that got Jim and I thinking….

Let’s make a bunch of Gingerbread Men and have the group decorate them, then we all sit down and take a bite and reveal the article.

How about we take it a step further and make it a decorating contest?

Oooohhh, let’s put a twist on it and have everyone decorate their cookie for someone else!  We could draw names.

And that’s how we did it.  Everyone drew a name and three at a time they went to the decorating station we set up and decorated their Gingerbread Man.

Then we lined them up on the table for everyone to view.

Here’s a closer look:

Then we gave everyone a chocolate chip and asked them to put the chip on the plate of the Gingerbread Man they liked the most.  I was careful not to say the one that was decorated the best- because it wasn’t a “best” contest.  I wanted everyone to vote for the one that they liked the most, for whatever reason.

My Gingerbread Man ended up being the winner:

I didn’t want to be the winner (since there was a prize involved), so I deferred to the two that tied for 2nd place and we had everyone vote again for one of those.

Here’s the two that tied for runner up:

Me, I voted for the hula dancer one- at least that’s what I nicknamed it.  I thought it was pretty creative!  Turns out it was the cookie that Aunt Karen had decorated for me!  It was supposed to be me, she said.  ;o)

The hula dancer won.

Then everyone sat down and the cookies were passed out to the appropriate person, and then everyone took a bite.  We revealed the article which most agreed was fairly accurate.  It was cute.

Me- I’m a leg biter.
Jim- head
Trevor- head
Riley- leg
Brooke- head

According to the Dunkin Donuts article, 64% bite the head first, 20% the legs and 16% the arms.

Those who bite the head first tend to be achievement-orienteded individuals, natural leaders, and people who won’t take no for an answer.

Those who bite the legs first tend to be more sensitive, reveling in the company of others.

And the arms… if it’s the right hand, it reflects an individual who tends to be skeptical and pessimistic.  If it’s the left hand, those people have a flare for creativity and are more extroverted.

So there you go.  I think we’ll do this again next year, but first I need to find a better Gingerbread Cookie recipe!
