We stopped at a garage sale this morning and I saw an IKEA art easel for sale….chalkboard on one side, whiteboard on the other.  Unfortunately, their kids had written all over the whiteboard with a permanent marker.  As a result, they were selling the easel for just $1.00.  I bought it, brought it home, researched how to remove the permanent marker and thought I’d share that with you:

Simply write over the permanent marker area with a black dry-erase marker, let it sit for 30 seconds, then erase it with a dry-erase eraser pad!  And it works!  Some areas we needed to color over a couple times.  When all the permanent marker was gone, I got the good ‘ol Magic Eraser (Mr. Clean) out and the rest of the whiteboard cleaned up nicely!  A quick spray with dry-erase board cleaner and we’re ready to go!

Ta-da!!!
