When we first booked our Vegas trip I was super excited…..then became a little stressed out because we were doing carryon only. My initial stress was the toiletry issues (see this previous post), but I got that all figured out….whew!
I also learned that I CAN take nailclippers, tweezers and small scissors.
All that was left was to figure out what I was going to wear!
I needed wanted to update my summer wardrobe (which last summer consisted of shorts, tanktops and jersey dresses = b-o-r-i-n-g) and with our Disneyland trip coming up, and our Vegas trip- what better excuse to go shopping!
Multiple shopping trips and many hours later (every girl’s dream, right?) I loaded up on several new items from Kohls and Nordstrom Rack….including new shoes!
And then I got our carryon suitcase out of the closet and went into shock. Um, it’s A LOT smaller than I remember it being. Ruh-roh.
Mix and match. Interchangeable pieces. Coordinating colors.
I think I have it down!
Here’s a peek at what I’m bringing:
Shoes (not pictured are my chocolate brown Nike flip-flops):
The Skechers GoWalks are new…as are the BareTraps gladiator style sandals.
And here’s some of the outfits I’ve put together (options of capris or shorts with most):
New shirt from Kohl’s. Shorts from Old Navy.
Turquoise shirt from Fred Meyer. Gladiator sandals from DSW.
New lacy tank from Kohl’s. Shorts from Old Navy. Shoes from DSW.
New tank from Fred Meyer.
And one dress! New also, from Kohl’s.
And of course I bought some new jewelry (if you know me well enough, you know I do NOT wear jewelry other than my diamond earrings, so this might be interesting).
And here’s my travel outfit:
Turquoise jeans & white jacket from Nordstrom Rack, burnout tee from Costco!
So….three full days, six outfits……is it all going to fit in my carryon?
You betcha!
I used all my OldNavy shipping bags to wrap each pair of shoes (some have rubber bands around them to keep the shoes more compact):
I packed all my swimsuits and undergarments in these handy bags (just in case they decide to rummage through my suitcase):
And here’s everything in all it’s travel glory- with ROOM TO SPARE!!
