That about sums it up!  The story of my life these days…. so much to do and so little time to do it in.  I’m sure you are thinking the same thing, though, so I’m not after a pity party.

I might not be updating this blog as much as I’d like to, but I do keep my Facebook up to date since I can do that in a matter of seconds.  I post my “happenings” 2-3 times a day, so if you’ve been checking my FB page, you’ll know that I recently had a daycare child move out of the area, so I’ve been interviewing new families.  A couple weeks ago I signed up three new part-time families to fill that one opening, which makes every work day a little different.  Oh, we were without a stove/oven for a couple days, so instead of eating my one fried egg every morning for breakfast, I had a microwave omelet for breakfast- the only way I could cook an egg!  We did get our new range hooked up on Saturday.  Oh, and Trevor is done with basketball and soccer starts this week for both Trevor and Riley.  And I spent all day Saturday at a childcare conference.  OK- that sums up last week!!

I keep checking to see if there’s a way to link my Facebook Status to this WordPress Blog, but no luck.  So if you are curious about what is going on in my life- refer to Facebook!

Throughout the day I have things I want to share with everyone, I just don’t have the time.  Jim’s uncle suggested I get the Dragon Voice to Text program, so I could just grab a microphone and dictate my stories and have them magically appear to copy and paste in here, but again, no time.  I have about six stories partially written to post on here.  The thought process was I’d finish them and post them on the days I didn’t have much to share.  A backup plan if you will.  But I haven’t even kept up with that!

I’m back to keeping lists and notes everywhere.  Prioritizing what needs to be done and what can wait.  I’m drowning in paper again, but keep putting off my filing and sorting because I simply don’t want to do that.  (I actually have a story about procrastination as one of my partially completed blog posts!).  So much to do, so little time.  And I’ve been tired.  I think it’s the time change, although I’m still going to bed at the same time, I just don’t want to get up when my 5:00 alarm goes off!  I did so good last week getting up early and walking on the treadmill, but not this week.  And it’s making me feel like I’m running two steps behind.  Grrrr….

One would think that by working at home, I’d be able to squeeze some tasks in here and there, but that’s really not the case.   It’s never a good idea to leave a group of 2-4 year olds unsupervised, as you can imagine!  It’s hard enough to go to the bathroom without someone doing something they shouldn’t be doing!

I still have that hour or two in the afternoon (quiet time) to work on my to-do list, but quiet time isn’t always quiet either.  And frankly, I’ve been too wiped out to be productive on anything.  After I get the kids down for nap, and made sure every last one is asleep, it’s out to the kitchen to clean up from lunch and wipe counters and tables for the 3rd time of the day, sweep and mop…then I’m pooped!   I’ve been watching my DVR shows that I can’t find time to watch in the evenings.  And even though the load of laundry is sitting there staring at me- and I should be folding it while I’m watching TV,  no.  I don’t.   I’m just going to take a physical and mental break for a 1/2 hour and do nothing.

But I did come up with a plan for the 1/2 hour that I’m sequestered to the playroom!  And I’m proud to announce that it has been working!   My goal is to work on my digital scrapbooking during that time- and last week I completed five pages!  Ahhh, that felt so good!

Moral of this story…. I’m balancing work, family, and myself… and this blog isn’t as easy to keep up with as I thought it would be.  So hang in there, don’t forget about it, check in every now and then.  But if you really want to know what’s going on, check my Facebook page!
